Hello there! I'm Avery Pawlak, a forever learner focused on developing skills in the meeting point between design and technology. With over four years of experience in graphic design and in technical fields, I'm always up for a new challenge to broaden my horizon. Currently, I'm an incoming Junior at Indiana University majoring in Informatics at The Luddy School and minoring in Business at the Kelly School of Business. When I am not studying or working, I love to dive deep into my photography hobby (which can be found under other pages on this website), bake homemade sourdough, and hangout with friends through playing sports and videogames. There’s nothing better than breaking the 4th wall! This website was my first endeavor into creating one location to store all of my previous projects, passions, and rationale behind their creation. As this is my first major coding project, I focused on learning how to get a base of code understanding in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, while also learning how to use AI effectively to help me build a better website.
This is a two part newsletter dedicated to highlighting important events and gatherings that has taken place in the Luddy Living Learning Center over the course of each semester. During the design process for this newsletter I facilitated design meetings, managed the project including setting and managing timelines as well as each team member’s responsibilities.
This is a cover I created for the Penn Harris Madison elementary school agenda planner that is given to all 4th and 5th grade students in the district (roughly 2000 copies). It was one of two designs selected in a yearly design competition and highlights all eleven of the school district’s elementary schools. For this design I focused on highlighting every elementary school and giving the cover a fun but academic feel.
